You don’t have to pay a lot of money to have a good phone these days!

There are a number of wonderful phones on store shelves in the UK today, but many of them cost £800 or more to purchase outright or are connected to costly two-year contracts. That may be a method to get your hands on the latest and finest, but it isn’t for everyone. You don’t have to pay a lot of money to have a good phone these days.

Here are the finest 4.5 user-rated phones in the UK under £500 on Amazon!

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE specs:

Display: 6.5-inch, Full HD+         SoC: Snapdragon 865              RAM: 6GB           Storage: 128GB

Cameras: 12, 12, and 8MP      Front camera: 32MP      Battery: 4,500mAh

Software: Android 10

We’ll keep banging the drum for the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE until a fresh successor appears. It has all of the features of a high-end 2020 gadget without the high-end price tag.

The Galaxy S20 FE’s powerful spec sheet and affordable pricing have earned it a spot among the top phones of 2020. It has a Snapdragon 865 chipset, which implies it can connect to 5G speeds. It doesn’t have the same power as the Galaxy S20, but with 6GB of RAM, you should be able to get through most jobs. Samsung used a trio of back cameras, with the 12MP wide and 12MP ultrawide choices topping the list.

Samsung’s One UI is another compelling reason to choose the Galaxy S20 FE. TouchWiz is a thing of the past, and One UI is one of my favourite Android skins, despite its shortcomings. In the UK, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE is one of the fasntastic phones now available for slightly under £500, plus it’s a 4.5 user-rated phone available on Amazon!

Storage: 64/128GB          Cameras: 48, 13MP            Front camera: 8MP

Battery: 4,630mAh         Software: Android 11

Nokia’s XR20 is a somewhat different phone that costs less than £500 in the UK and is designed for a rugged audience in mind. Don’t worry, it’s not a big, clunky phone; the XR20 manages to strike a balance between daily flair and work-ready design.

It comes with excellent dust and water resistance certifications, as well as long battery life. The 4,630mAh battery will last a long time, and 18W wired charging will get you back on your feet quickly. On the XR20, Nokia used an entry-level Snapdragon 480 SoC, which provides good 5G compatibility despite not being the most powerful.

The 6.67-inch Full HD+ display of the XR20 is likewise stunning. It’s made of Gorilla Glass Victus, so it should be able to withstand some wear and tear as you go about your day. You may expect 4 to 6GB of RAM and up to 128GB of storage, which you can easily expand with a microSD card.

Xiaomi likes introducing new members to established smartphone families, and the Xiaomi 11 Lite is no exception. It has 5G speeds, and the NE simply means “New Edition.” It comes with a 6.55-inch Full HD+ AMOLED Gorilla Glass 5 display with a refresh rate of 90Hz.

Xiaomi’s 11 Lite 5G NE is powered by a Snapdragon 778G processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Its 4,250mAh battery is one of the smallest on the list, but with 33W rapid charging, it should be easy to get back up and running. Xiaomi even used a 64MP primary lens to lead the effort, with an 8MP ultrawide and a 5MP telemacro lens rounding out your choices.

It’s available in a variety of hues, including Diamond Dazzle, Tuscany Coral, and Jazz Blue, and it’s a good option if you’re looking for phones in the UK for under £500.

With the Nord CE 2, OnePlus returns to the affordable smartphone market. This gadget, which costs £286, is one of the great phones to buy for under £500, and is much less expensive than the brand’s flagships and delivers OxygenOS to mid-range hardware. The MediaTek Dimensity 900 is used in this OnePlus handset, which is the company’s newest mid-range processor. This not only gives the phone an exceptional performance but also adds 5G capabilities.

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 features a silky smooth 6.43-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display, four cameras, up to 8GB of RAM, 128GB of expandable storage, a 4,500mAh battery, and 65W Warp Charging.

The cameras aren’t perfect, but the OnePlus Nord CE 2 is a fantastic challenger in the ever-competitive mid-range category, and it can keep a headphone jack around for another year, along with true dual-SIM functionality and a microSD card slot.

Motorola G100

Motorola G100 specs:

Display: 6.7-inch, Full HD+         SoC: Snapdragon 870            RAM: 8/12GB

Storage: 128/256GB Camera: 64, 16, and 2MP        Front camera: 16 and 8MP

Battery: 5,000mAh      Software: Android 11

Motorola has long been a frontrunner in the inexpensive smartphone space, and the G100 pushes those boundaries even further. It costs £448 and comes with a Snapdragon 870 processor, 8GB of RAM, and 128GB of extendable storage to keep you going. The G100 is Motorola’s first smartphone to have a Snapdragon 800-series processor.

Motorola chose a display with a 90Hz refresh rate as its centerpiece, and while it isn’t the fastest, it does support HDR10. You’ll find a 64MP main lens on the back, but its most intriguing feature is a macro shooter with a ring light like the Motorola One 5G. The G100 also comes with two front-facing cameras, in case you want to take ultrawide selfies.

In general, it’s one of Motorola’s best phones under £500 in the United Kingdom, especially if you’re looking for beefed-up internals.
