Elon Musk announces subscription-based monetization plan, US residents meeting eligibility criteria can apply for Twitter Subscriptions.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has unveiled the platform’s latest feature, Twitter Subscriptions, which is essentially a rebranded version of the “Super Follows” feature. This new feature enables Twitter users to monetize their content. This will include tweets, videos, newsletters, and more, while also providing them access to subscriber-only Spaces and exclusive subscriber badges.

On Thursday, Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, made an announcement that Twitter users can now take advantage of Subscriptions. “Subscriptions` are now enabled on the platform — a way for people`s most engaged followers to help them earn money from Twitter for their contributions on the platform”

In a Twitter exchange, a user asked Musk if he planned to share ad revenue with creators, to which he responded, “We’re working on it.” Musk added that progress is slower than expected due to Twitter’s complex codebase.

This new feature allows users to earn money from their most dedicated followers for the valuable content they share on the platform. This is a major development for Twitter, as it offers a new revenue stream for creators and provides users with the opportunity to financially support their favourite content creators

“Apply to offer your followers subscriptions of any material, from long-form text to hours-long videos! Just tap on ‘Monetization’ in settings,” tweeted Musk.
